Urban Systems Training

Special Events are not always fundraisers or charity events. We often are commissioned to photograph events like corperate training seminars in Vancouver or Edmonton.

This past week we photographed one of many training seminars for Urban Systems Engineering, a fantastic engineering company which is always looking out for thier staff. The event hosted around 20 people at the Sutton Place Hotel and was a success for all the staff. We were fortunate to have been commissioned to document the session. Here area couple samples of the photos.

Stollery Snowflake Gala Photographed by IMP Events

The Stollery Children's Hospital held their annual Snowflake Gala in an effort to raise funds for the upcoming year. The Stollery Children's Hospital is the primary facility for specialized pediatric services for all of Northern Alberta. As a result, IMP Events was felt privileged to give back to their community by providing such brilliant and lively photographs.

The evening was a delight for both children and adults alike. The organizers of the Gala turned the Shaw Conference Centre into a magical winter wonderland. Entertainers circulated the hall, performing tricks to the delight and amazement of little ones in attentive audiences.

In an effort to both enjoy the evening and generate more publicity to the cause, local media personalities and politicians were also in attendance. The Premier of Alberta, along with his lovely wife Marie attended the Gala, along with Paul Brown, Yukon Jack and Jillian Foote of the Bear's Breakfast show.

A family that certainly deserves mention is the Ghermezians, husband and wife Don and Marie, along with their gorgeous children.

Thank you Stollery Children's Hospital for letting us be part of your special event. We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did!

IMP Events Celebrate the Creative Age Festival in Edmonton

The Creative Age Festival is held annually in Edmonton in an effort to celebrate and encourage creativity in seniors. The festival itself is several days long, as it encompasses many creative and artistic mediums. IMP Events was there to cover it all!

IMP Events was present to cover all the mediums represented: Theatre, Visual Art, Music, Dance, and Film.

It was an amazing opportunity to see how artistic attributes come to fruition in seniors.

Edmonton's Mayor Stephen Mandel was in attendance, and made a public address stating that the week of June 9th - June 16th is Creative Seniors Week.

IMP Events would like to thank and congratulate all creative seniors for hosting an amazing festival and making us part of the celebration!

Edmonton Special Event Photographer - Dreams Take Flight

One of our event photographers had the opportunity to go to Disneyland with the Dreams Take Flight, Edmonton Alberta Chapter.

About 150 children were given the oportunity to visit Disneyland for 1 day. The children invited would never be given the oportunity without the assistance of Dreams Take Flight.

The children took pictures with Mickey Mouse, rode all the rides they could dream of and had the time of their life. We were glad to be their to share in this special event.

Edmonton Special Event Photographer photographs Elves Society

Elves Special Needs Society recently put on their 2008 Red Carpet Gala in October in Edmonton Alberta. This Gala recognized families of children with extreme disabilities and their accomplishments. IMP events was proud to be involved in such a good cause.

Elves Special Needs is hoping to add new additions to their two schools in Edmonton Alberta. With the Red Carpet Gala Silent auction Elves hopes to raise enough money to pursue and complete the construction of the new facility space.

IMP Events in partnership with Moderngrad.com sent photographers to capture this fun and entertaining event. We hope to be their while their schools and gala’s grow in size over the coming years.

We hope to be involved with the Elves Society again next year.

IMP EDMONTON SPECIAL EVENT PHOTOGRAPHERS MEET JASON LEWIS

Recently Jason Lewis from Sex and the City visited Ceili’s Irish Pub in Edmonton Alberta in efforts to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness.

You may know him better as that sexy male supermodel who dated Samantha in the new Sex and the City movie.

The event, which lasted a few hours, had Jason hanging out with the crowd, mingling with local women and posing for pictures for at least an hour. Local media came out as well to cover the event.

When Grant from Ceili’s contacted us at IMP events to photograph this, Eva was very quick to claim this contract. We wonder why...

Edmonton Special Event Photographers Photograph Dreams Take Flight

Recently IMP EVENTS photographed the annual Dreams Take Flight. Dreams Take Flight Edmonton takes children from mentally, physically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds to Disneyland for a day.

Trevor from IMP events took the journey with the group to photograph them throughout the day.

The Edmonton chapter of Dreams Take Flight provides this opportunity to children from as far south as Red Deer and as far north as Yellowknife.

We were absolutely blessed to shoot yet again for the Dreams project.

STIR EDMONTON'S NEWEST LOUNGE

IMP Special Event Photographers were asked to photograph the opening of the new Stir this past weekend in downtown Edmonton.

Shelly at Grey Goose hosted the event in which patrons were treated to all night food from their Stir’s kitchen staff as well as complimentary drinks all night long.

The new room is completely renovated with booths that sport an fashionesque Arabic style coverings, a new room layout and a very cool LED pressurized dance floor that lights up when you dance on it a specific way. Its like a cool mix of the piano in the Tom Hanks movie BIG with the dance floor in Travolta’s Saturday Night fever… Very cool.

Stollery Children’s Hospital Edmonton Alberta Fundraiser 2008

On March 12th IMP Events special event photography photographed the Stollery Children's Hospitals 2008 Radiothon in Edmonton Alberta.

“Throughout the two days more than 100 patients, their families and hospital staff shared inspiring stories with CORUS listeners. More than 300 volunteers answered phone calls from listeners wishing to pledge their support.” – http://www.stollerykids.com/

“Once again Radiothon was filled with emotional and inspiring stories,” said Jennifer Wood, President & CEO of the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation. “This would not be possible without the incredible commitment from CORUS Radio and support from its generous listeners.”
The Edmonton public raised a grand total of 1.65 million over the two days.

Two of IMP Events primary photographers Trevor and Nick were the photographers for the event. Although both have photographed various Stollery events in the past both Trev and Nick were inspired and humbled by the experience.

As always we were honored to be chosen to photograph for the Stollery Children's Hospital.

Hair Massacure Edmonton Alberta

This past week IMP Event Photography had the pleasure of photographing the 6th year of the Valentine's Day Hair Massacure. The Hair Massacure is a brilliant charity effort in Edmonton Alberta, which raises money to support children with life threatening illnesses. http://www.hairmassacure.com/

Participants of all ages and genders lined up in droves to get their hair died pink then have their heads shaved in order to show their support for the cause. Special guests included athletes from the Edmonton Rush and Edmonton Eskimos as well as guest entertainer Wayne Lee.

This year OVER 1000 HEADS WERE SHEARED and over six hundred and fifty thousand was raised for the The Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation and Make-A-Wish Northern Alberta.
